Mental Health Nursing Scholarships in Australia. -

For nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists, and other allied health care professionals looking to learn more about MS or advance their knowledge of the disease through hands-on experience and training in a mentored MS environment in Europe, ECTRIMS offers a Professional Training Fellowship Programme. By encouraging better clinical care and education, as well as by supporting the spread of European best practices in MS care, our goal is to improve the care and support of people with MS.

About The Scholarship

The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care has established the Mental Health Nursing, Allied Health, and Psychology Scholarships Program. The program offers a variety of scholarships for psychologists, allied health professionals, and mental health nurses to pursue courses in disciplines relevant to mental health.

For allied health professionals working in or planning to work in the mental health field in 2023, the Allied Health Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scholarship will pay up to $1,500 to attend a short course, conference, or workshop. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants will be given preference for 5% of the scholarships.

Eligibility Requirements

The following requirements must be met by applicants in order to be eligible:

• A citizen of Australia or an Australian permanent resident

• are licensed allied health professional (including a psychologist) who is entitled to register with their professional body or is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

• Works in the field of mental health, which encompasses elderly care, general care, community care, psychiatric hospitals, and mental health facilities.

All courses must advance knowledge of mental health and suicide prevention and be pertinent to applicants’ jobs in the mental health field.

Important Data

• For holders of advanced degrees in allied health professions (RN, PhD, OT, PT, etc.) who want to receive mentored clinical and/or research training in multiple sclerosis

• Fellowships that are funded and have variable durations of up to a year at a laboratory or clinic in Europe

• Citizens of any nation may apply for this program, but training must be completed in a European clinic or institution.

• Fellows who wish to train in a different city or different European country are encouraged to do so, provided that language barriers and any professional licensing requirements do not get in the way of a successful training period. For candidates from Europe, the training institution may be in the same city or country as the candidate’s home institution.

• The application requires supporting documentation from the applicant, the suggested mentor, the suggested host training institution, as well as other experts.

• At the conclusion of the fellowship period, successful fellows and their mentors will be required to submit progress and financial accounting reports.

Scholarship Worth

The scholarships provide up to $1,500 in money. The money provided for scholarships should be viewed as a contribution or subsidy toward the overall cost of the conference, workshop, or course.

Accommodation expenses

• Textbooks.

These sums are viewed as a contribution to the recipient’s out-of-pocket expenses for their activity. It is anticipated that the recipient will cover a portion of the expenses on their own.
