About The Scholarship

Up to 10 online MBA diversity scholarships worth between £2,500 and £5,000 will be made available by the Business School to applicants who would broaden the range of cultures or viewpoints represented on the Edinburgh MBA.

Scholarship Requirements

The recipients of the online MBA diversity scholarships will be those who:

• Possess strong academic qualifications and a wealth of job experience.

• Possess the potential to improve and enhance every facet of the online MBA

• Is able to show how they’ve fostered a welcoming, inclusive environment and/or created a sense of community by actively seeking contributions and participation from all people in activities like projects, group work, events, and so on.

• Is able to explain how they will use their Online MBA degree expertise to continue to make a difference as a leader, particularly in terms of accountability and inclusivity.

Eligibility

Only when you have received an offer (either conditional or unconditional) to enroll in one of the qualifying programs and have either firmly accepted the offer or are intending to do so are you eligible to apply for a scholarship. Only if you have an active offer throughout the whole scholarship application process will the scholarship selection committee take your application into account (meaning if your offer is declined at any point up until the scholarship decision deadline you will no longer be eligible).

Ineligibility for this award includes:

• Your employer is fully supporting you.

• You have been awarded a full scholarship.

In the event that a scholarship is granted to an applicant who later rejects an offer of admission to the Online MBA, the scholarship will be removed and given to another candidate. If a student doesn’t adhere to the requirements established by the University, their award will be removed.

Selecting a candidate

All submissions will be evaluated by a scholarship panel made up of several members of the student support staff.

The information you provided as part of the scholarship application process will be the main focus of the panel’s consideration of your application, with an emphasis on the contribution you can make to the program’s enrichment. If additional prioritization is necessary, it will be determined by academic performance.

We’ll consider the following factors as we evaluate your application:

• The details included in the scholarship application form and declaration with regard to:

How you would enhance and contribute to every area of the Online MBA program, including the MBA cohort’s broad academic and cultural profile.
Give examples of how you’ve created a welcoming, inclusive environment and/or established a culture of belonging by actively encouraging everyone to contribute to projects, group activities, events, and so on.
How do you intend to continue making a difference as a leader, particularly in terms of responsibility and inclusivity, using the information you have learned from the online MBA program?
The documentation of one’s academic and professional accomplishments.

Notification

Within a month of the specified scholarship deadline, all applicants will be informed of the outcome of their scholarship application.

Conditions

• The scholarship will be subtracted from the cost of tuition.

Successful candidates for the Online MBA Diversity Scholarship who are enrolled in the program will have the scholarship award amount applied against the first year’s tuition.

• Scholarships must be received within a specific time period in order to guarantee both your spot in the online MBA program and the scholarship financing.

• You will lose your scholarship offer if you don’t accept and make the necessary online MBA program deposit payment within the allotted time limit. The scholarship will thereafter be redistributed by the Business School.

• If you are also receiving additional University of Edinburgh scholarships, the total amount of fees that will be covered by all of the scholarships is the entire amount due.

* Scholarships cannot be deferred or transferred. They are only good for usage by the scholarship recipient during the academic year mentioned in their application on the admission date (such as January 2023).

• If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be required to serve as an occasional Business School ambassador both during and after your program.

• The School has the power to award scholarships, and all decisions are final.

• Scholarship monies that have already been made will be prorated and returned if you withdraw at any point during the teaching term. The Director of Professional Services may reconsider this choice in unusual situations.
