Our staff and students collaborate with one another, creating relationships with organizations from the public and private sectors as well as on and off campus. Our research has grown more and more in the fields of energy and health technologies in recent years. With this approach, we have been able to diversify our curriculum and raise the department’s profile on a national and worldwide scale.

The department also offers targeted research initiatives in fields including clean and alternative energy, design for the environment, micro and nanotechnology, biomechanics, and innovative manufacturing and materials, to name just a few. These are in addition to health and medicine.

• The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) program prepares students for a variety of engineering and industrial vocations as well as graduate study.

• Master of Science (MSME) – prepares students for post-graduate work in research or industry.

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) – Students who complete this rigorous research program are prepared for advanced professional jobs in academia and business.

About The Scholarship

Applications from qualified applicants are being sought for the USA 2023 program of the University of Washington Merit and Need-Based Scholarships. Both domestic and foreign students may submit an application for this program. The scholarship is valid for undergraduate-level Mechanical Engineering courses offered at the University of Washington. As of the deadline, interested candidates may submit an application for the scholarship. May 1 is the application deadline.

University Of Washington Provided Funding

For new, transfer, and continuing majors, the mechanical engineering department offers a number of merit- and need-based scholarships. Numerous students receive scholarships every year, totaling more than $400,000, in various amounts. Students can apply for rewards for the upcoming academic year online between April 1 and May 1. For need-based scholarships, a prior FAFSA application is required. Even if they are not accepted by May 1, transfer students should still apply for our scholarships if they qualify.
